Professor Laurie Buys

Laurie Buys, PhD is Professor and Director of the Healthy Ageing Initiative at The University of Queensland. She is an experienced researcher and research manager, who frequently collaborates with scientists from various disciplinary backgrounds on complex research initiatives. Her main research interests fall under the broad headings of longevity, social gerontology and social sustainability, focusing specifically on issues associated with community engagement and active and healthy ageing. She has over 170 refereed publications and is a past President of the Australian Association of Gerontology.
